Dr. Sweatt's research interests are focused on the conceptualization of personality disorders using general personality models and on the clinical applications of personality models within the personality disorder nomenclature. This research examines the relations between personality and psychopathology in several ways including: (1) examining and comparing general models of personality pathology, (2) the utility and applications of personality traits to clinical use and outcomes, and (3) extensions of personality models to constructs not described in the current diagnostic manual.
