  • Research Assistant

    This is a two-year limited term appointment. Continuation of employment is contingent upon availability of funds.

    The Auburn University Libraries seeks an enthusiastic, proactive, and detail-oriented individual to serve as Research Assistant. Reporting to the Coordinator of Research Support, the Research Assistant will assist library personnel in planning, sustaining, and completing research and assessment projects related to the Libraries’ mission and strategic plan. As part of the Research Support unit, this position will be expected to work closely with other personnel in the Department, as well as the other units within the Libraries, on new and existing projects.










    Minimum Qualifications
    Bachelor’s Degree in content specific area of research.





     


















    Minimum Skills and Abilities

    • Ability to understand and break down complex tasks into manageable steps.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a flexible and adaptable attitude.

    • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.


    Minimum Technology Skills

    • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft office tools including Word and Excel.


       




     










    Desired Qualifications

    • Experience using academic databases to locate scholarly information.

    • Experience with critically evaluating academic sources.

    • Experience with citation management tools such as Endnote or Zotero.

    • Experience with programming software such as R or Python.

    • Experience in using tools such as OpenRefine or Tableau to manipulate data and create visualizations.
