Job Description
The Department of Psychology at Old Dominion University (ODU) invites applicants for a Lecturer of Psychology to begin in Fall 2025. This is a 10-month, annual, non-tenure-track appointment. This Lecturer will be responsible for the following:
- Teaching four undergraduate courses per semester (Fall and Spring) on the main ODU campus (Norfolk), including Introduction to Psychology.
- Contributing to undergraduate student advising.
- Fulfilling departmental service responsibilities.
There are no research requirements for this position, though there may be opportunities for research collaboration within the department.

Master’s degree in psychology.
Minimum required level and type of experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities
Candidates must have the communication, organization, and mentoring skills needed to be a successful instructor, mentor, and advisor.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates who have prior teaching, advising, and mentoring experience at the undergraduate level. Preference will be given to candidates who hold a doctoral degree.
