My research is focused in the field of political ecology, with particular interests related to ecological citizenship and environmental justice, indigenous rights and natural resources, sustainable local economies, and environmental policy.
Geographically my research is conducted in two regions: Latin America, with particular focus on Chile, and Canada's North, with my current work being done in the Northwest Territories. As coordinator of a thematic area on water and megaprojects within the WATERLAT network, I have worked broadly on water politics in Latin America, especially in relation to hydroelectricity and mining.
