    Job Description Summary


    The Sociology Program within the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work at Auburn University invites applications for up to two full-time 9-month tenure track Assistant Professors of Sociology beginning August 16, 2026. Research/teaching interests should include Criminology and Health. The ideal candidate will teach in person existing courses in these areas and will have the opportunity to develop others related to their specific interests within the undergraduate and graduate Sociology degree programs. Additionally, the ability to teach courses in sociology and social science research methods is expected. Teaching load is 3/2 with a reduced load of 2/2 for the first two years.

     

    Minimum Qualifications


    Applicants must have Ph.D. in Sociology or related field at the time employment begins and excellent interpersonal skills.

    The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment; excellent communication skills teaching Sociology courses are required.
