Primary Purpose of Position
The Department of Economics is accepting applications for Part-Time Instructors for the spring, 2021 semester, which begins January 25, 2021. Part-Time Instructors are hired on a semester-by-semester basis to teach courses delivered by the economics department. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: teaching face-to-face and/or online courses, attending training sessions with economics faculty, participating in data collection and assessment of student learning, and submitting teaching materials as part of semester review and evaluation.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The Department of Economics supports over 125 undergraduate majors and teaches introductory level core courses in economics and statistics in the Deese College of Business and Economics. The department also teaches courses in the university’s general education program (Principles of Microeconomics and Principles of Macroeconomics).
Minimum Requirements
Candidates must have at least a Master’s degree in economics or applied economics at the time of application. A PhD in economics or applied economics is preferred.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
Candidates with 1-3 years teaching in economics at the university or community college level are preferred. Experience teaching economics courses online is required.
