Job Description Summary
The Sociology Program within the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work at Auburn University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Sociology. This is a nine-month, full-time, non-tenurable teaching position beginning August 16, 2023; it may be renewed for a second year. The course load is five classes over two semesters, with scholarly/teaching foci related to any of the following: methods/methodology, health and medical sociology, crime and criminology, and/or inequalities.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must demonstrate relevant teaching experience and be ABD in Sociology at the time employment begins.
The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment; excellent communication skills are required.
Desired Qualifications
PhD in Sociology and relevant teaching experience at the time employment begins; demonstrated dynamic, innovative, and cutting-edge pedagogical skills at the time employment begins
