Dr. Bruzek's broad research aim is to better understand socially relevant behavior-environment relations. In part, her research has focused on the development of treatments for children diagnosed with developmental disabilities who were not responsive to more common treatments. Additionally, her research has focused on understanding the contexts under which human behavior reemerges after an extended absence (e.g., relapse). The aim is to better comprehend the relationship between infants and their caregivers; specifically, the assessment and prevention of caregiver behaviors related to child abuse (e.g., shaken baby syndrome).
