The Department of Economics at the University at Buffalo seeks to hire, at the level of assistant professor (tenure-track), an applied microeconomist or applied econometrician with interests in labor and related fields. Candidates should have an exceptional knowledge of the latest econometric and statistical methods. Individuals with expertise in machine learning, big data, and artificial intelligence are particularly encouraged to apply. Candidates should have a PhD in hand or firmly expected by August 2024.
 
 Candidates are expected to be active researchers with the potential to excel in publication and build a strong scholarly reputation in economics. We especially welcome applications from advanced assistant professors with a demonstrated track record of research success. Responsibilities also include undergraduate and graduate teaching and advising, and participating in service to the department, university, and discipline.
