My teaching and research begins with enduring political questions about the nature and limits of political communities and political power. To date, I have focused these questions around three inter-related areas of inquiry: (1) the transformation of citizenship and political belonging, (2) the regulation of borders and migration, and (3) the spatial dimension of politics. My interests are shaped by a concern for the injustices that characterise contemporary migration and citizenship regimes, a desire to understand the political forces that shape mobility within and across political communities, and a commitment to scholarship that contributes to positive social change.
