My research focuses on the cognitive processes that take place at the intersection of self and other. I primarily ask questions about the dynamics, behaviors, and perceptions that occur within romantic relationships or affect romantic attraction. I am fascinated by humor, jealousy, forgiveness, and other such experiences that contribute to relationship well-being. My scholarly interests also include how romantic partners might foster self-authenticity and how we make sense of unknown others (e.g., social projection).
My teaching interests include core psychology courses, such as introductory psychology, research methodology, and social psychology, as well as specialized courses in social psychology including interpersonal behavior and advanced research courses on close relationships.
