The primary aim of my research is to elucidate the genetic and environmental processes underlying the development of depressive symptomatology and dementia in older adults. Current research projects include: 1) Testing whether the heritability of depressive symptoms changes over the course of bereavement; 2) Testing for sex differences in the genetic and environmental influences of the onset of dementia. I also conduct research on marital quality to identify which aspects of married life male and female partners interpret differently from one another
