My research interests are mainly centered on the study of the role of peers in the social and emotional development of children and adolescents. My research activities aim to describe the processes by which inappropriate behavior (ie social withdrawal and aggression), interpersonal difficulties (ie rejection and victimization by peers) and the characteristics of friends combine to lead to the further development of social and school adaptation. More specifically, I am currently working on the following projects:
The relational context associated with overweight problems and the development of feelings of psychological distress in early adolescence.
Relational experiences with peers and the academic success of secondary school students: The role of difficult social relationships and risky friendship relationships.
Implementation of preventive interventions aimed at facilitating the social integration of rejected and socially victimized students in the school environment.
