My research interests fall into three broad interrelated categories. Paramount among these is the development and application of developmental systems theory. I am particularly interested in using this theoretical framework to integrate biological processes and ecological contextual processes involved in behavioral development. My substantive work in this area primarily focuses on infant & child temperament development, with a special focus on behavioral inhibition. I am also working to develop methodological and statistical approaches that are more congruent with developmental systems theory. To date I have been focusing primarily on non-recursive structural equation models, latent growth models, catastrophe models, and complex dynamic systems approaches.
