Expertise: My primary research interest is the development of reading skill in young children. I am currently investigating the effect of co-occurring factors such as language skills, behavioral problems, and the influence of the home environment, as well as the adverse effect that exposure to violence has on reading performance. I am also interested in the psychology of teaching and learning and am in the process of developing a study to investigate students’ understanding of and attitudes about plagiarism.
