Dr. Jin Zhang has a PhD from School of Information Sciences, the University of Pittsburgh. He also holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science from Department of Information Science, Wuhan University, China. His research interests include visualization for information retrieval, information retrieval algorithms, metadata, digital libraries, transaction log analysis, consumer health informatics, human and computer interaction, and search engine evaluation. He has taught Information Retrieval, Research Methods, and Information Technology. He has written many articles, published in such information science journals as the Journal of American Society for Information Science and Technology, Information Processing and Management, the Journal of Information Science, IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics, and the Journal of Intelligent Information Systems. One of His books, “Visualization for Information Retrieval” was published by Springer in 2008. The book is in the Information Retrieval Series of Springer.
