Expertise: David Eichmann's research interests lie in the general area of information systems, particularly representation and retrieval. He is currently active in the adaptive filtering of newswire stories, question answering and Web-based retrieval. These areas are complemented by work in image retrieval and video segmentation--providing a rich set of media prototypes, which he uses in his work in adaptive Web search agents.
