My research broadly covers the relationship between emotion and judgements. This effect covers behaviour as simple as how fluent (fast and seemingly effortless) motor responses result in positive emotions (and liking), or as complex as how our emotions guide or moral view of other people.
The research methods that I use involve measuring psychophysiological responses within the lab with members of the public. I often use a technique called electromyography, which lets me directly measure facial muscle activity whilst a person is thinking or performing a task. Psychophysiology lets me correlate physical changes in the body relating to emotion and relate this to the individual's environment or decisions and thoughts
