Broadly, my research interests focus on the strengths and challenges impacting aging families. I am interested in finding solutions to improve the lives of grandparents raising grandchildren and the grandchildren in their homes, as well as decreasing stress and strain among family caregivers and their care receivers. My research goals are to develop and test dyadic interventions that support the health and wellbeing of grandparents/grandchildren and caregivers/care receivers. I am also interested in using community-based participatory research methods in conducting my research and value the role of engaged scholarship. My current and previous research is funded by the National Institutes of Health, USDA/NIFA Children Youth and Families At-Risk program, and the Brookdale Foundation Relatives As Parents Program.
