Hsi-Chuan is a doctoral candidate of Sustainable Urbanism at Washington University in St. Louis. His study interests look at metabolisms of cities and in-situ infrastructural interventions in informal settlements, particularly in the Global South. Before his doctoral program, he was a professional urban planner in the Urban Development Bureau of Kaohsiung City. His earlier projects focused on brownfield redevelopment and urban renewal, which require inclusive communication skills to achieve a balance among public and private sectors. Hsi-Chuan received both his Master and Bachelor of Urban Planning from National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan.
