  • Dr. Ellenhorn’s clinical and research interests include: processes and structures of objectification and dehumanization, dreams and other forms of psychical experiencing, verbal expression and physical and emotional health, intergenerational transmission of culture and systems of fetishized primitive delusional beliefs and objects, deracination sequelae, unconscious communication, character formation and maintenance, and psychotherapy process research. He has presented papers nationally on such topics as dreams, silence, humor, nonverbal participation, psychotherapy process, discourse analysis, language and personality style, referential functioning, multiple code theory, varieties of self-experience, siblings, dissociation, therapist couples, violence and PTSD, the future of professional psychology, psychoanalytic education, anomie, and professional correspondences in history. He was formally a principal of the Ellenhorn Consultation Group, providing leadership development, executive coaching, assessment, team building, and human factors consultation. He has worked internationally with issues of globalization, high growth, leadership, and creativity.
