Professor Uzogara studies the gendered nature of stereotyping, prejudice, and discrimination against stigmatized groups and how those experiences shape outcomes such as social inequalities, stress exposure, mental and physical health disparities, preferences to segregate across physical spaces, and political attitudes. In a second line of work, Professor Uzogara examines ways that students with marginalized social identities subjectively experience and react to inequalities in higher education settings. This work involves both quantitative and qualitative research.
