Dr. Yang’s research interests focus on the development and adaptation of quantitative models and analysis tools (1) to handle missing data, especially for longitudinal studies and randomized controlled trials, and (2) to examine intensive longitudinal data (e.g., time series and state space models for analyzing daily diary data). Her methodological interests are largely motivated by empirical data analytic problems and measurement issues in health psychology. She is collaborating with scholars in intervention/prevention science, behavioral health, as well as health-related quality of life or patient-reported outcome measurement. She is particularly interested in the longitudinal measurement and modeling of fatigue, pain, health behavior, and emotion regulation in both experiments and natural settings.
