My research concerns three areas: media culture, visual literacy, and digital visualization. I am currently working on a large interactive digital timeline that chronicles Hungarian history (through photos and animation) from 1848-1956. I have a huge interest in promoting (and actively using) nonprofit digital archives. And I am the co-author of Media and Culture, the leading introduction to mass communication textbook. I am also the co-author of Media Essentials and Media IN Society. My background is in journalism, media production, and media literacy pedagogy.
