Assistant-Associate Specialist - Lab Manager - Institute of Personality & Social Research
The Institute of Personality and Social Psychology (IPSR) at the University of California Berkeley under the guidance of Dana R. Carney (the Director) is seeking a highly motivated individual to further the research of IPSR and Dana Carney's research group in three primary areas: (a) racial bias and discrimination, (b) power, status, and inequality, and (c) nonverbal communication. The position is commonly referred to as a lab manager in social psychologyhowever, it is a research position. All activities are research or research-related.
The Assistant/Associate Specialist will work closely with Dana Carney and other faculty and students at IPSR, in the Psychology Department and at the Haas Business School to include duties such as:
Research projects related to bias, power, and nonverbal communication
Coordinate lab activities, experiments, participant recruitment, the writing or IRB/CPHS protocols and help to coordinate with undergraduate research assistants on research projects.
Participate in project meetings with staff and graduate student researchers.
Write research reports and peer-reviewed journal articles.
Participate in the writing of proposals to seek additional research funding.
