    Salary range: The UC academic salary scales set the minimum pay at appointment. A reasonable estimate for Lecturer positions is $66,259-$97,304 when full-time.

    Percent time: 25% - 100%

    Anticipated start: July 1, or August 1 2024; or January 1, 2025.

    Review timeline: We will actively review for Fall semester needs through July 2024, and typically review for Spring 2025 needs in October 2024.

    Position duration: One semester or one academic year.

    Position description

    Berkeley Social Welfare invites applications for an open pool of part-time, non-tenure track lecturer positions. The number of positions available varies from semester to semester, depending upon the needs of the School.

    We are seeking outstanding lecturers who can teach small to medium size seminar courses in Social Welfare Policy, Social Work Practice and/or Research Methods at the Undergraduate and Graduate levels. We are especially interested in lecturers with knowledge in practice.

    Standard duties beyond podium teaching include holding office hours, assigning grades, and preparing course materials.

    Qualifications
    Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
    A Master's degree or equivalent international degree by time of application.

    Additional qualifications (required at time of start)
    Candidates wishing to teach Masters-level social work practice courses are required to have an MSW degree (or international equivalent) AND 2 years of post-Master's experience.

    Preferred qualifications



    • Demonstrated teaching experience.

    • Demonstrated experience in social work and field education.

    • Demonstrated work experience with diverse populations.

    • Demonstrated experience in social work and field education.
