    Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) is a licensed and accredited university in Dubai, the UAE, recognized globally for its commitment to delivering learner-cantered, high-quality smart learning. In alignment with our mission to foster innovative education, we invite applications for a non-resident full-time Assistant Professor position in Sociology.



    Main roles & responsibilities


    The successful candidate will play a vital role within the school of e-Education and is expected to be available online to deliver the required academic duties. Responsibilities include:


    · Teaching: Deliver engaging graduate courses utilizing advanced online learning platforms and innovative technologies.


    · Curriculum Development: Design instructional materials and e-content tailored to the field of Sociology.


    · Mentorship: Guide, advise, and mentor students throughout their academic journeys.


    · Professional Development: Create and facilitate professional short courses and workshops aimed at specific target groups and professional communities.


    · Research: Enhance the academic landscape by publishing research findings in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals. Developing proposals and pursue funding opportunities for research related to sociology or associated fields.


    · Service: Undertake necessary responsibilities to support academic programs and their accreditations.





    Required qualification & skills


    Candidates should possess the following qualifications and skills:


    · A Ph.D. in Sociology or relevant fields from an accredited university where English is the language of instruction.


    · The candidate should be capable of teaching at graduate levels.


    · A demonstrated record of successful teaching experience at an accredited university.


    · Experience in online/e-learning environments is required.


    · Ability to integrate industry insights into curriculum development and classroom instruction.


    · Proven capability in developing and delivering professional workshops.
