  • Lecturer: Spatial Science
    Architecture, Planning and Construction
    Namibia University of Science and Technology

    A Master’s degree (NQF Level 9) in either Urban and Regional Planning, Urban Design, Urban Studies, Sustainable Urban Planning and Development or a related qualification with at least four (4) years of lecturing and/or industrial experience and/or an equivalent combination of relevant professional experience.  Excellent English communication skills (oral and written).  Competence to teach at least three of the following courses: Human Settlement Planning and Design; Principles of Urban Design; Sustainable Settlement Planning; Layout Drafting Studio; Global South Urbanism; Urban Design Studio and Spatial Planning Practice. Registered/ registerable with the Namibia Council of Town and Regional Planner or other similar recognised relevant statutory professional bodies. Competence to establish professional networks and maintain links with the industry, as well as experience in developing undergraduate programmes.  A credible record of lecturing, peer-reviewed publications, community engagement, supervision of students (research) at the undergraduate or postgraduate levels, as well as relevant Doctorate will be an advantage.
