    This position will provide leadership and vision for the MAAT (Master of Arts in Art Therapy with an emphasis in Counseling) Program. A twelve-month, tenure­ track, faculty position, the role includes administration of the CAAHEP-accredited graduate program in Art Therapy, as well as teaching, scholarship, and service. The position is tenure-track and rank is commensurate with previous administrative and teaching experience. A creative thinker with strong organizational and personnel skills, and commitment to the concepts of innovation, continuous improvement, and excellence in higher education are fundamental to this position.

    Responsibilities Include:
    • Organize, plan, develop, and maintain general effectiveness of the program
    • Lead and administer the graduate program, which includes budget development and management, scheduling classes, staffing courses, meeting with faculty and students, and assisting faculty in professional development activities
    • Ensure curriculum meets CAAHEP/ ACATE standards; submit annual reports and other required accreditation correspondence
    • Design and implement assessment and program review processes
    • Teach graduate level courses
    • Keep abreast of various states' counseling licensure requirements and NC-SARA guidelines
    • Recruit and evaluate faculty in the graduate program, including adjunct faculty; provide mentoring and opportunities for development
    • Reach out to art therapists or counseling partners for creation of new partnerships (practicum and internship opportunities); seek connections in local community
    • Engage in scholarly activity appropriate to the discipline such as publishing, presenting at national, regional, and local conferences, conducting research and/or grant writing and related activities
    • Engage in all roles and responsibilities associated with a full-time faculty appointment, including teaching, scholarship and service to the program and institution
    • Represent the graduate program at regular college meetings (Graduate Council, Faculty Assembly, etc.)
    • Other duties as assigned

    Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, names and contact information for three references, statement of teaching philosophy examples of teaching and clinical interventions, and verification of a current professional state counseling license and art therapy registry from the Art Therapy Credentials Board (ATCB).

    Requirements include:
    • ATR-BC and Counseling license, e.g. LPC, LMHC
    • Terminal degree in the field of art therapy or counseling
    • Demonstrated online and instructional technology skills
    • Three years clinical practice in art therapy or counseling is desirable
    • Previous college/university teaching experience with online or hybrid programs is preferred
    • Managerial or leadership experience in art therapy or counseling is desirable
    • Rank and Tenure negotiable depending on experience
