The Department of Social Science/Public Administration within the College of Business, Humanities and Social Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Psychology beginning August 2020. The teaching load is 4/4 with assignments in traditional and online instruction. Preference will be given to the specialties of Behavioral Neuroscience, Applied Behavior Analysis, and Experimental Psychology. We are in search of an outstanding teacher with scholarly promise who will participate in student advising, recruitment, retention, and curriculum assessment. Faculty are expected to demonstrate value to the profession and university through creative activity and scholarship. The successful candidate will join an undergraduate college with a student-centered philosophy and whose student population is primarily rural or first generation.
WVU Tech is ranked first in the state for return on investment and is ranked seventh in the nation in annual ROI for students paying in-state tuition. The campus is in close geographic proximity to several state and national parks and numerous recreational opportunities. The Department of Social Science/Public Administration offers five undergraduate degree programs: Criminal Justice, Forensic Investigation, Health Services Administration, Public Service Administration and Psychology.

The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Psychology or closely-related field or an ABD in Psychology or closely-related field with a completion date no later than December 31, 2020. Evidence of scholarly promise and exemplary communication skill are essential. The successful candidate must maintain the rodent colony and be familiar with IACUC protocols and procedures. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in undergraduate teaching.
