Master’s of Social Work:
The Department of Social Work at St. Catherine University invites applications for a full-time, 10-month, tenure-track contract appointment as faculty in our Master’s degree program in clinical social work. This position includes release for serving as program director. Our department also offers the Bachelor’s degree of social work. A start of spring 2019 (preferred) or fall 2019 will be considered.

We are seeking a thought-leader with a desire to build and support growth in generalist social work programming at St. Catherine University. This position offers excellent opportunities to shape and enrich our programs. We appreciate that social work is an ever-changing field and seek a candidate interested in adding innovative elements to our curriculums. Our department values the opportunities that come along with small class sizes and getting to know our students.

Responsibilities: The selected candidate will demonstrate excellence in both their administrative and teaching roles by providing visionary leadership in their work with faculty, staff, students, and the community. The successful candidate will be involved with leading efforts around accreditation and faculty development. As this position is 50% teaching and 50% administrative, the successful candidate will be expected to advise students, conduct scholarly work, and engage in service activities with colleagues, the department, school, campus, community, and professional organizations.

The university is comprised of a diverse student body. Applicants should be prepared to support and work collaboratively with all students to help them use their training to lead and influence.

Qualifications: An earned Doctorate or working toward a Doctorate (preferably in social work), a Master’s in Social Work, at least two years post-Master’s practice experience, and eligibility for licensure in the state of Minnesota is required. Three years of experience in higher education with increasing responsibilities is preferred. Commitment to conducting, publishing, and presenting research at professional meetings is required and should be evident in past experiences. Preference will be given to candidates who possess administrative experiences with social work accreditation.

St. Catherine University seeks creative, adaptable faculty who enjoy working in a university climate that promotes cultural diversity and multicultural understanding. Candidates of color are encouraged to apply. Consistent with the university’s commitment to women, diversity and social justice, preference will be given to candidates who manifest these themes in their teaching, research and service.

Our department seeks candidates whose teaching, scholarship, and service contribute to the University’s commitment to diversity. Preference is given to individuals who have experience teaching, conducting scholarly work and/or serving multicultural, underrepresented, and/or marginalized populations.

To apply: Please go to the St. Catherine University Employment Site at http://www.stkate.edu/hr to electronically submit. Applicants may also visit the University Human Resources office, located in Derham Hall Room 8, to submit an electronic application. Please include a cover letter including your vision for the future of social work education, a CV, and a statement of teaching and leadership philosophy. Candidates selected for interview will need to provide three references. Official transcripts and background check will be required for employment. For information, contact Dr. Catherine Marrs Fuchsel. Review of applications begins 1/2/2019 and continues until the position is filled.
