The School of Communication and Journalism at Auburn University invites applications for a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor of Public Relations beginning Aug. 16, 2024.
This is a nine-month, tenure track, full-time teaching faculty position in the public relations program. The successful candidate will teach five courses per year and be expected to maintain an appropriate level of research productivity for their rank. Additional responsibilities include service to the School, College and the professional PR community, teaching graduate-level courses, and directing theses in the graduate program.
The successful candidate will have the ability or willingness to teach a variety of PR courses, and will be able to build on existing instructional capabilities of the PR program. Examples of courses include Sports PR, Analytics, Crisis Communication, Multimedia Writing, Style & Design, PR & Media Relations Fundamentals, and others as needed. The successful candidate also will have taught or have an interest in developing online public relations courses and/or study abroad opportunities. Opportunities for summer teaching are possible, subject to availability of funds. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
