The Department of Sociology at Tufts University invites applications for the position of tenure-track Assistant Professor in Environmental Sociology to begin Fall 2020. Preference will be given to those candidates who also teach or conduct research in one or more of the following areas: political sociology, social movements, media, gender, and network analysis.

The successful candidate will have an opportunity to connect outside of the department with supportive departments and programs including Environmental Studies, International Relations, American Studies, Community Health, Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning, and the Tufts Institute of the Environment. Tufts University is a category I research university located in the vibrant intellectual community of Boston. The Department of Sociology is an undergraduate-serving department, and candidates should be committed to teaching a highly motivated, undergraduate student body.

The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in sociology or a related discipline, a demonstrated record of academic research and publications, and relevant teaching experience.
