The Postgraduate Programs offer a unique, university-based training as part of the Derner School of Psychology. The school is internationally recognized as a leader in the field of psychology and has been ranked fourth worldwide for psychology-psychoanalysis by the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR).
The postgraduate programs are designed to help clinicians advance their psychoanalytically informed skill level in providing psychotherapeutic services to different populations in different modalities.

Psychoanalytic training certificate programs
for mental health professionals:
One-Year Adult Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Program offers an introduction to psychodynamic principles through the study of classical and contemporary psychoanalytic theory and technique.
Four-Year Adult Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy Program provides a comprehensive and in-depth study of classical psychoanalysis, British and American object relations, self-psychology, intersubjectivity, and contemporary relational and interpersonal approaches to psychoanalytic treatment.
Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy Program is a three year program providing advanced training in in-depth psychodynamic psychotherapy with children, adolescents, and their caregivers.
Postdoctoral Fellowship in Psychology is a two year program providing psychologists with training and professional experience leading to the fulfillment of New York State licensure as a psychologist.
for non-mental health professionals:
License Qualifying Program in Psychoanalysis (LQPP) is a five year program designed for non-mental health professionals who have earned a master’s or other advanced degree (e.g., JD, PhD) in a non-mental health field and wish to become psychoanalytic psychotherapists.
