Department Summary
UNT is a Carnegie-designated Tier One research university that is in Denton, Texas, which is north of the Dallas/Fort Worth/Denton Metroplex, which is the most populous metropolitan area for both Texas and the South, and the fourth largest metropolitan area in the U.S. UNT Denton, as the flagship research campus of the UNT System, has over 42,000 students including more than 8,000 graduate students. The Department of Psychology at UNT is unique, in that it includes ~26 faculty members who serve and facilitate three PhD programs and two undergraduate degree tracks. The Department of Psychology educates over 2,700 undergraduate majors and minors and approximately 110 graduate students, making us one of the largest and sought-after departments. Our faculty have expertise in research, pedagogy, training, and a range of psychological disciplines including forensic clinical psychology, multicultural counseling, and cognition. UNT is the only university system in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area that is a designated Purple Heart University, Minority Serving Institution, and Hispanic Serving Institution. For 4 years in a row, UNT has won the Higher Education Excellence in Diversity Award. Our departmental mission is to equip our graduates with psychological knowledge and skills for utilization in a broad workforce and global society.

Position Summary
The Department of Psychology at the University of North Texas (UNT) invites applications for a 9-month temporary non-tenure track position as a lecturer, starting in Fall 2022. Responsibilities include teaching an equivalent of four courses face-to-face and serving on faculty committees, as appropriate. Opportunities for summer teaching depend on funding availability and the teaching needs of the department. Reappointment may be considered, depending upon performance and budgetary approval.

Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. in Psychology, or related area at the time of employment.
A commitment to teaching excellence

Preferred Qualifications
Interest in, and experience with, teaching and/or supervising a racially, ethnically, and multiculturally diverse student body.
Evidence of teaching excellence.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
