The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Justice Leadership graduate program (DEIJ-L) at Tufts University’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences is seeking applicants for a full-time lecturer position to begin in September 2023. This interdisciplinary program is focused on engaging students with scholarly theories and practical tools for careers leading organizational and societal change for greater diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice. The workload consists of six-courses per academic year or the equivalent.  This includes teaching conducted both virtually and in-person, as well as administrative and student advising responsibilities. The selected candidate will be expected to contribute to leadership efforts including program administration and strategic planning, with potential for advancement over time. This position is for a one- or two-year initial contract with possibility of renewal.

A doctorate degree in relevant areas that include, but are not limited to, Organizational Leadership, Education, Urban and Environmental Planning, Child Study and Human Development, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Cultural Studies, and Political Science. Familiarity or experience with the development and teaching of virtual course is highly preferred. The teaching, scholarship, and practice interests of the successful candidate should be in the areas around these themes broadly conceived. Expertise and experience in diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice leadership, organizational change, critical theory, program evaluation, and data analytics are all areas of interest.

All applications are submitted via Interfolio, at apply.interfolio.com/117638 .  Note that Applicants should supply (1) a letter of application outlining relevant experience, (2) a Curriculum Vitae (CV), (3) three letters of recommendation (uploaded directly by recommenders to Interfolio); and (4) a brief teaching statement. As our program is committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice, candidates should address, across their materials, how they support and promote these priorities in their professional career.

Please contact Maddie Key, Program Manager for DEIJ-L, at madeline.key@tufts.edu if further information is needed. Review of applications will begin December 12th, 2022, and continue until the position is filled. All offers of employment are contingent upon the completion of a background check and meeting the University’s current COVID-19 vaccination requirements.

Tufts University, founded in 1852, prioritizes quality teaching, highly competitive basic and applied research, and a commitment to active citizenship locally, regionally, and globally.
