: Faculty - Tenure Track (FT)
Utah Valley University is searching for a tenure-track faculty member for the History and Political Science Department. Under the supervision of the department's chair, teaches political science lower division curriculum as well as upper division courses associated with American politics. This would also include courses in the areas of race and ethnicity politics, minority politics, immigration politics, and public opinion. Candidate would also seek ways to fulfill the guiding concepts of the college and university as embodied in the philosophy, mission, values and vision of the university.
Candidates should have graduated from an accredited institution with a doctoral degree in Political Science or have a firm commitment to completion by August 2019.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge and skills in the politics of race and ethnicity, minority politics, immigration politics, public opinion, and research methods.
- Evidence of a successful teaching record, demonstrated research skills, effective communication skills, and commitment to service and professional development.
- Ability to manage, motivate, and evaluate students in upper and lower division courses.
- Ability to write research findings, publish, and present research at conferences.
Candidates should have expertise in the politics of race and ethnicity, minority politics, immigration politics, media and politics, and public opinion in the United States,as well as have the ability to teach survey and experimental methods courses within the department.
Have the ability to teach students, operate computers and other equipment associated with the classroom.
Frequently standing, sitting, and walking. Frequent fine-hand manipulation associated with the use of a computer.
