Position: Family, Home, and Consumer Science/Community Development County Agent: Lowndes and Wilcox Counties

Location: College of Agriculture, Environment and Nutrition Sciences/TUCEP

Status: Full-Time; Exempt

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
This position seeks a highly-qualified candidate for Family, Home, and Consumer Science /Community Development Agent. The County Agent will oversee all of the duties of providing direct assistance to County Agents in all of the counties within the specified service area of TUCEP for programming in Family and Consumer Sciences, Youth Development, Community Development, and Nutrition and Wellness. Additionally, this position will provide service with faculty, agents, resource specialists, and interns to plan, implement, and report activities for TUCEP. This position is essential to the alignment of all programs delivered in all 20 plus counties served are aligned with accepted USDA outputs and outcomes, as well as other USDA designated regulations.

The successful candidate will:
Develop and prepare plans of work based on Tuskegee University Cooperative Extension Program Plan of Work Nutrition, Food Science/Safety, Health, Human Development, Financial Management, Community and Economic Development or related area.
Assist in developing and participate in implementing Extension team projects designed to provide information and education in nutrition education, youth development, health and family issues, community and economic development.
Provide timely staff reports as required.
Evaluate educational activities and program results as appropriate.
Establish and maintain a local Extension Advisory Council.
Participate in profession organizations and professional development courses and trainings.
Publicize on-going educational and public relations programs to inform organizations, agencies, and the public of programs and activities.
Provide leadership directly to clientele by contacts, other agents, faculty, and agencies.
Meet the Community needs relate to diverse audiences
Develops and conducts relevant interdisciplinary programs with CAENS faculty and staff members based on critical issues, conducts promotional efforts to expand public knowledge of extension programs.
Utilizes current TU research data and information on emerging issues in community development and teaching and Demonstrates personal interest and involvement in community by participating in and supporting civic/ community activities organizations and networking with community leaders.
Serve on Tuskegee University Cooperative Extension Program Committee for ExERT, BTW Summit, TAPS, and Farmers Conference.
Other duties as assigned by the Extension Administrator or Associate Dean for Extension

Bachelor of Science degree in Family Consumer Science degree nutrition or a closely related field is required; Master of Science degree in Family and Consumer Sciences or a closely related field is preferred
Must demonstrate the ability to communicate and work within teams
Must be able to teach effectively

Commensurate with education, training and experience; **Salary contingent upon putside funding.
