Primary Purpose of Position
The Department of Social Work and Sociology is accepting applications for Part-time social work Instructors. Part-time Instructors are hired on a semester-by-semester basis to teach undergraduate and graduate social courses delivered by the Department. The maximum teaching load is four courses per semester. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Teaching social work courses, attending training/faculty development sessions, participating in data collection for assessment of student learning, and recording grades and course materials in Blackboard, the university’s Learning Management System.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The Department of Social Work and Sociology supports over 270 undergraduate majors and 90 graduate social work students along with providing general education in the areas of sociology and anthropology.
Minimum Requirements
Candidates must have a Master’s degree in social work at time of application.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
Candidates with 1-3 years teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level and with a background in teaching social work practice courses are preferred.
