The Social Work Program within the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work at Auburn University invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Social Work with appointment beginning August 16, 2023. The candidate's primary appointment will be in the undergraduate program with some teaching responsibilities in the graduate program. Area of expertise is open, but the program is especially interested in candidates with a specialization in child welfare, health, mental health, or health disparities. We seek candidates who demonstrate the ability to conduct scholarly research, publish in peer-reviewed venues, demonstrate an active and well-articulated research agenda and the potential for external grant funding, as well as a record of excellence in teaching. The teaching load is a 3/2 across the Social Work curriculum, with a reduced load for the first two years (2/2). The expected teaching assignments are in the areas of general and advance practice methods, introduction to social work, human behavior or child welfare.

This is a full-time, 9-month, tenure track appointment.
