The Department of Communication in the College of Arts and Sciences seeks candidates for a Clinical Assistant Professor position, beginning in the 2018-2019 academic year. The successful candidate is expected to teach 8 sections of a Communication Literacy 2 course (COM 300) over the course of the academic year, a central component of the new UB Curriculum. The aim of this course is to prepare students to successfully communicate across a range of professional genres and media including technical, professional, and public audiences and to produce communications individually and as part of a team. All COM undergraduate majors participate in the course. The clinical faculty may also be involved in other professional and scholarly activities including developing proposals for educational funds to aid in pedagogical advancement. Salary range: $45,000 – $48,500.

Ph.D. in Communication or a related field, with a focus on professional communication or composition. The degree must be conferred before appointment.
Demonstrated experience teaching at the college level or experience in the practice of professional communication.
