Managing Assistant Director of Social Work
Reporting to the Chief Well-Being Officer, the Managing Assistant Director for Cougar Connections Center of Social Work (Managing Assistant Director 2) will support the mission and vision of the Department and Kean University. The Managing Assistant Director will oversee the implementation and continued departmental growth of Cougar Connections Center of Social Work by supervising a team of Social Workers, MSW Interns and Graduate Assistants in supporting Kean University students in obtaining resources that will improve their daily life and student experience.
The Managing Assistant Director will connect students with campus and community resources that assist with solving social, economic, emotional and behavioral problems; help students cope with problems and solve issues that may be related to food insecurity, housing issues, financial well-being and family crises; and also serve as a resource to Kean faculty and staff by informing the college community of various resources for at-risk students. The Managing Assistant Director will manage daily operations that provide essential support services to Kean University students and promote individual student success; host events and workshops that promote well-being; and prepare budgets and quarterly or annual reports based on departmental data. This is not a remote position and requires physical presence on campus as determined by the Supervisor. This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including some evening and weekend hours.
Qualifications: MSW degree and two years of professional experience in Social Work is required. LSW or LCSW in the State of New Jersey and two or more years of professional leadership and management experience in Social Work is preferred. Candidate must have experience in working with at risk populations, mentoring and/or community stakeholders; excellent administrative and organizational skills; excellent data-gathering, management, analysis and reporting skills; and excellent oral and written communication skills.
