The Department of Psychology at the University of North Texas (UNT) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position within our APA-accredited Counseling Psychology Program, beginning Fall 2022. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate a strong research program and a record of applying for or receiving extramural funding. The specific areas of research for this faculty position are open. However, preference will be given to candidates with research complementing one of the program’s elective clusters (i.e., Child and Family, Sport Psychology, and Minority Wellness) and/or with an area of emphasis that relates to diversity (e.g., focus on marginalized groups and/or social issues). Faculty responsibilities include developing and maintaining an active research program, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, seeking research grants, advising and mentoring doctoral students, and sharing service duties. Successful applicants are also expected to demonstrate strong interests in mentoring students’ professional development and supervising students’ clinical work since mentoring and supervision are valued components of program faculty.
