Founded in 2015, the Center for Applied Brain and Cognitive Sciences is a cooperative research initiative between Tufts University and the U.S. Army Natick Soldier Research, Development, and Engineering Center (NSRDEC). Our mission is to bring together a unique interdisciplinary community of scientists and engineers to advance the state of the art in applied brain and cognitive sciences. The Center provides an innovative environment for conducting collaborative applied research focusing on measuring, predicting, and enhancing cognitive capabilities and human system interactions for individuals and teams working in naturalistic high-stakes environments.
The Research Associate will support applied cognitive science research at the Center for Applied Brain and Cognitive Sciences. Specifically, the Research Associate will support cognitive neuroscience efforts using EEG, EOG, eye-tracking, fNIRS, and other physiological sensing modalities as a technique for understanding, measuring and improving human cognitive performance.
PhD in computer science, psychology or cognitive science required.
Minimum 3 years of post-doc experience.
Knowledge of EEG, EOG, eye-tracking equipment (operations and maintenance).
Minimum 5 years of previous research experience with biosensing hardware and software.
Signal processing and data analysis experience.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong attention to detail.
Strong publication record which involves biosensing and state estimation.
Knowledge of EOG/EDA/EMG/HR and/or other physiological modalities.
Preferred degree involving EEG/EOG training and expertise.
Experience in designing and performing user studies, contributions include but not limited to hardware/software artifacts which involve EEG/EOG.
Knowledge and experience in measuring cognitive states of the user, including but not limited to attention, engagement, fatigue.

May require occasional weekend or evening work.
