Recently embarking on a historic $2.1 billion comprehensive campaign, the University of Kentucky set an ambitious path to be a destination for students, scholars, and healthcare providers to forge new discoveries and arrive at world-class outcomes. University of Kentucky Libraries is vital to fulfilling the goals of enhancing and expanding the university’s research enterprise, and we are looking for a faculty librarian to lead our liaison services. Reporting to the Associate Dean for Outreach, Engagement and Collections, the Coordinator of Liaison Services will be responsible for implementing, providing leadership and direction for the UK Libraries’ liaison program, which provides outreach and engagement services to academic units. The Libraries are currently redesigning our liaison program with a planned implementation of Fall 2023. This position will directly supervise six Liaison Services librarians and coordinate liaison activities for other subject liaisons across the UK Libraries. This position will also serve as a liaison to academic departments.

· Provides leadership, direction, and oversight of the liaison program.
· Supervises Liaison Services librarians and coordinates liaison activities across the Libraries.
· Conducts continual assessment of the liaison program.
· Identifies current and emerging user needs to inform new or existing library programs, services, and partnerships.
· Serves as liaison to and actively develops professional relationships with faculty, researchers, and students in assigned disciplines.
· Provides in-depth, specialized research consultations for students, faculty, and visiting scholars in assigned disciplines.
· Leads course-based library instruction for assigned departments and partners with instructors to integrate information literacy into the curriculum.
· Contributes to the advancement of University of Kentucky Libraries’ programs for information literacy, scholarly communication, open educational resources (OERs), and other library initiatives.
· Participates in faculty governance and other shared leadership opportunities.
As a member of the UKL faculty, the Coordinator of Liaison Services Librarian participates in planning, shared governance, and UK Libraries-wide faculty activities. This is a full-time, 12-month, tenure eligible position in the Librarian Title Series (open rank) which requires scholarship, professional development, and service that contributes to the effectiveness of UK Libraries, the university, and the profession as outlined in Administrative Regulation 2:7 ( Your Distribution of Effort (DOE) range: Primary assignment: 70-80%, Service/Prof. development and scholarship 20-30% and is reviewed at minimum annually each year. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. The minimum salary for a Librarian IV is $57,000 and for a Librarian III is $62,500.

Required Qualifications
· Master’s degree for an ALA-accredited program or equivalent combination of a relevant advanced degree and experience.
· At least 3 years of experience in an academic library serving as a liaison to academic departments and/or programs.
· Experience leading departments, committees, or other groups.
· Experience in planning and providing information literacy instruction.
· Understanding of the academic library’s role in research, teaching and learning, and of current and emerging trends/issues.
· Ability to meet the requirements of tenure-track position through research, publication, and/or professional engagement.
Preferred Qualifications
· Supervisory experience.
· Experience marketing library services to academic departments/programs.
· Record of scholarship, teaching, and/or active membership in professional associations.
