A Lecturer is a twelve-month, full-time employee who teaches 39 credits per year and provides student and learning support services during the assigned periods. The Lecturer holds a strong commitment to teaching; maintains office and advising hours for students; actively participates in the university community; and does related work as required. This is a non-tenure track position that may be renewed on an annual basis. Teaching assignments and related responsibilities may include day, evening, weekend and online courses. Interest or experience in using advanced instructional technologies to improve the teaching/learning process is highly desirable. Courses may be taught at the Union campus, Kean Ocean, Kean Skylands or other locations. All lecturers may be required to teach General Education courses. Positions are effective for the fall 2019 semester.

Nathan Weiss Graduate College

Department of Graduate Social Work
Online Master of Social Work Program – the Department currently offers a Master of Social Work Program and will offer a new Online Master of Social Work Program beginning in fall 2019, upon approval from the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). The Lecturer will maintain weekly office hours; advise students; and teach courses across the Master of Social Work curriculum at the Union campus and for the online program including, but not limited to: Generalist Practice; Human Behavior and the Social Environment; Research; Policy; Clinical Practice; Psychopathology; Trauma; Comfort Care; Integrated Seminar; and graduate level social work electives. Master’s degree in Social Work from a CSWE accredited program; a minimum of one year of teaching experience at the post-secondary level; and a current New Jersey Social Work license or eligibility for licensure is required. A Doctorate degree in Social Work or a related human services discipline and a minimum of three years of post-Master of Social Work degree professional/clinical practice experience is preferred. Candidate must have knowledge of and the ability to use Blackboard and/or other technology mediums to advance learning and teaching; the ability to work as a collegial, collaborative and motivated social work educator; expertise integrating real world practice into the classroom experience; the ability to support and encourage excellence amongst students and colleagues; and be dedicated to advancing the Social Work profession through the application of the National Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics.
