This is a grant-supported position with anticipated funding through April 30, 2021 Affect Regulation Training (ART) for Alcohol Use Disorder: A Stage II Efficacy Trial’. This study explores the usefulness of providing emotion regulation skills as part of standard CBT treatment for people with alcohol use disorders, and operates under the supervision of clinical research scientists Paul R. Stasiewicz, Ph.D. and Clara Bradizza, Ph.D. and will be an employee of The Research Foundation for SUNY.

These are clinical-based treatment studies of alcohol use disorder and will be taking place in a clinical setting. Incumbent will be responsible for screening participants over the phone to determine eligibility. Incumbent will assist with all research appointments which include the administration of questionnaires, observational data collection and face-to-face interviewing. Incumbent will be responsible for recruitment mailings and maintaining subject records in a Lotus Notes database and assisting with subject retention efforts. Incumbent will perform other project related tasks as needed.

Incumbent receives general direction for most activities. Incumbent receives more direct supervision when experimental or unusual processes are involved, and is expected to consult with their supervisor or project director as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree or two years formal training in Psychology or related field required. Six months experience conducting research in social sciences required. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are required. Computer literacy and strong written and verbal communication skills are also integral to the position.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or related field preferred. Previous experience following research protocols preferred. Experience with Lotus Notes databases, Microsoft Word and EndNote also highly desirable.
