A Lecturer is a full-time employee who teaches 39 credits per year and provides student and learning support services during the assigned period. The Lecturer holds a strong commitment to teaching; maintains office and advising hours for students; actively participates in the university community; and does related work as required. This is a non-tenure track position that may be renewed on an annual basis. Teaching assignments and related responsibilities may include day, evening, weekend and online courses. Interest or experience in using advanced instructional technologies to improve the teaching/learning process is highly desirable. Courses may be taught at the Union campus and/or Kean Ocean in Toms River, New Jersey or other locations. All Lecturers may be required to teach General Education courses. Positions are effective for the fall semester.

College of Business and Public Management

School of Criminal Justice and Public Administration
Criminal Justice (Two Positions) – one position will teach undergraduate courses in three or more of the following areas: criminal justice, criminology, policing, crime analysis (crime mapping) and ethics. The second position will teach undergraduate courses in three or more of the following areas: criminal justice, criminology, corrections, juvenile justice, comparative criminal justice and victimology. Candidates will teach at the Union and Ocean campuses based on specific areas of specialization and the needs of the department. Both positions will be required to assist with developing and supervising undergraduate and graduate internships. Master’s degree in Criminal Justice or a related field and a minimum of one year of teaching experience at the post-secondary level is required. Doctorate and research focus in criminal justice or a related field is preferred.
