Open-Rank, Intersection of Psychology, Computation, and Smart Systems

The Department of Psychology at Florida Atlantic University, together with the Institute for Sensing and Embedded Network Systems Engineering (I-SENSE), seek outstanding candidates for an open-rank position at the intersection of psychology, computation, and smart systems. This position is contingent upon funding.  The successful candidate will establish a program of funded research that entails the innovative use of sensing technology, computational approaches, or data analytics (or some combination) to advance our understanding of the processes/mechanisms that guide human behavior, intersecting with departmental strengths in cognitive, developmental, or social psychology. Possible research foci include (but are not exclusive to) computer-vision or multi-sensor network analysis for tracking and/or analyzing human behavior in vivo, deep-learning approaches for analyzing behavioral ‘big data’, or computer modelling of social agents and systems.  The position, housed in the Department of Psychology (, will have access to resources provided by I-SENSE (, designated as a core strategic area of research by Florida Atlantic University.

Minimum Qualification: 
A Ph.D. or equivalent degree from an accredited institution in psychology or a related field required by the time of application.
Candidates whose research programs have strong translational implications, particularly with regard to health are preferred.
