Global Studies – to teach core courses in the undergraduate Global Studies program and social sciences or humanities. Preference will be given to candidates who can expand our existing interdisciplinary offerings regarding the global flow of people and ideas (e.g., International Migration & Refugees; Peace and Conflict Resolution; Global Social Movements; International Development; Area studies; etc.). The successful candidate will advise students; participate in student outreach activities; develop curriculum; and must have the ability to work with a diverse campus community of students, staff and faculty.

Qualifications: Doctorate degree in International/Global Studies, Political Science, Sociology, Geography, Nonprofit Management, Development Studies or a closely related field is required. Teaching experience is necessary. Candidates should have a record of recent publications in peer reviewed academic journals and an agenda for future internationally focused research.

This is a ten-month, full-time, tenure-track assignment at the rank of Assistant Professor, effective for the Fall 2021 semester. Teaching assignments and related responsibilities may include day, evening, weekend and online courses. Courses may be taught at the Union campus, Kean Ocean, Kean Skylands or other locations.

All tenure-track faculty are expected to demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence and an on-going program of research and publication or creative and performance activity. Participation in curriculum development, student advisement and service at the departmental/school, college, university and community level is also required. Interest or experience in using advanced instructional technologies to improve the teaching/learning process is highly desirable. Proficiency in the Learning Management System, Blackboard and Online Learning Pedagogy is required, consistent with University guidelines. Kean may offer free voluntary Blackboard workshops to otherwise qualified applicants.
